Behind the scenes, the Working Party carries out the essential role of maintaining the reserve, as well as making it safe and accessible for the public. This dedicated team of volunteers meets twice a week, on Monday and Wednesday mornings, to tackle a variety of tasks, including bridge and path repairs, tree maintenance, planting, and mowing. The working party HQ is a large shed based in St. Helen’s Avenue, where you will find the volunteers enjoying tea and cake after their morning’s hard work.
There are many other opportunities for volunteers. We currently need volunteers for the summer fayre committee, events, the BBQ site, marketing, social media and more… Or you may like to propose a new initiative. We’d love to hear from anyone who’d like to get involved!
